This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal and other data when you use the Okira Studio mobile application (the “App”) and the web services accessed through the App’s webview (together, the “Services”).

1. Legal compliance note

We process personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000. You have specific rights under Indian law (for example, rights to access, correction, erasure and grievance) as described below.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of data:

a) Account & identity data
Name, email address, username, profile picture (if provided).
Purpose: account management, authentication, communication.

b) Credentials
Passwords (securely hashed).
Purpose: authentication.

c) Contact & billing data
Billing address, payment instrument details (note: payment card details are processed by third-party payment processors; we do not store raw card numbers unless explicitly disclosed).
Purpose: payments and billing.

d) Images & content
Input images you upload (fabric, garments, model photos, etc.), prompts, and generated images (derivatives).
Purpose: to provide image generation and related Services; to store and allow retrieval; to analyze for improving Services. Processing of such images is necessary for provision of the Service and is performed with your consent.

e) Device, usage & diagnostic data
Device identifiers, OS version, app version, crash logs, usage analytics, IP address, timestamps.
Purpose: security, debugging, analytics, service improvement.

f) Cookies & tracking
When you access the webview or our website, we or our service providers may set cookies and use standard web tracking technologies.
Purpose: to remember preferences, analytics, and efficiency.

g) Communications
Support requests, emails, and other correspondence you provide.
Purpose: customer service and legal compliance.

3. How we use your data (primary purposes)

  • Provide, operate, maintain and improve the Services.
  • Process and deliver generated images and return results to you.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents.
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and law enforcement requests.
  • Research and development, including improving AI models and features (in aggregated or anonymized form where possible).

4. Lawful basis & consent

We process your personal data on the lawful basis of your consent, performance of the contract (providing the Services you request), and to comply with legal obligations. Consent is requested at registration and before processing sensitive categories of data where required. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection framework, consent must be informed, specific, and revocable; you can withdraw consent at any time for future processing (withdrawal will not affect processing already performed).

5. Sharing & third-party processors

We may share your data with:

  • Service providers (cloud hosting, AI model providers, analytics, email, payment processors) who process data on our behalf.
  • Legal and compliance parties where required by law, court order, or to respond to lawful requests.
  • Business transfers: in the event of merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets, subject to confidentiality obligations.

We use reputable third-party service providers; their locations may include India and other countries. Where transfers outside India occur, we implement appropriate safeguards. You should check the list of third-party processors on our website for current details.

6. Retention

We retain personal data as long as needed to provide Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. For account deletion requests, we delete or anonymize data unless retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).

7. Security

We implement reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative safeguards (encryption in transit, secure storage, access controls) to protect personal data. No security measure is perfect; we will notify users and authorities as required by law if a data breach occurs.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Access and obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • Request correction or completion of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion (erasure) of your personal data (subject to retention obligations).
  • Withdraw consent for processing you previously consented to.
  • Lodge a grievance with our Grievance Officer (details below) or with the appropriate data protection authority.

To exercise your rights, contact support@okira.in. We will authenticate requests before acting and will respond in accordance with applicable law. Under Indian law you have a right to correction, completion, updating and erasure for personal data you provided.

9. Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete such data. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us data, contact support@okira.in.

11. International transfers

If we transfer personal data outside India (for example to cloud or AI providers), we will do so under appropriate safeguards and subject to applicable law.

The App or webview may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third parties. We are not responsible for their practices or content.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update the Privacy Policy. We will post the revised policy with the “Last updated” date. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

14. Data Safety and Google Play

When publishing on Google Play you must complete the Play Data Safety form and link to this Privacy Policy. The privacy policy must comprehensively disclose how the App collects, uses, and shares user data as required by Google Play policies.
